I would not say HP solely did this because of the Mac Air but it was one of their main reasons. And I think they did a great job, I'm getting one when it comes out. However I thought they were gonna also offer Linux on it.

edit: nvm they do, ordering now, thought they were gonna be later this month though, woo hoo!

tbh i dont like these things.

for student purposes, id say 12-14" screens hit the sweet spot.its not like my vostro 1400 is a burden to carry around college everyday. Congrats on HP jumping on the niche tho, seems this thing will be well supported enough.

I think the main market for these is primary schools, suits the little ones just fine!
