I guess it is about time that I come over here. I have been over at XS for awhile now and thanks to FragTek I am now here as well. A little about me...I am currently serving in the US Navy and deployed somewhere in the Pacific. Once I get back to the states here in the next few months I will definetly be playing some on your CS:S server. It has been 4 months since I last played so it will take a bit to get back in the swing of things. I will also be folding on all of my machines for OC3D :) I hope to see everyone around.

Welcome mate. Sweet ass rig ya got there :worship:. Good ta see ya around and we thanks for the folding!!

Looking forward to having a chat :wavey:

Glad you cold make it over to :oc3d: mate!! You do have a viscious computer, completely off the chain. Hope the RAM cooling brackets are/will serve you well.

How long will you be on shore leave before you have to head back out to sea?

:wavey:

Thanks for the comments on the rig. I actually got really lucky with the venus mobos. We pulled into Singapore at the end of April and found a shop with 7 left so I grabbed 3. Don't know what is going to happen with the 2 extra yet.

Welcome to OC3D twisted5 :) You own a Venus omg  :worship: Looking forward to chatting with you real soon

Wow. Yeah Frag the first bracket is working out GREAT! Temps dropped alot with it. We are actually going into drydock for about a year or more so I will be around for awhile. I should be transfering to a shore command before the ship goes back out to sea though so this hopefully is my last one :)

Noiceness mate! That would be awesome. Where are/will you be stationed out of?

Always wondered what heppens if you get sea sick in the navy?

I realise you probably get used to it after a while.

Oh and welcome to the forum!

I am actually stationed out of Everett, WA just north of Seattle. We are going to be in Bremerton which is on the other side of Puget Sound. Most people don't get sea sick onboard a carrier but the smaller ships people do all the time. Of course you do just get used to it I guess. I have never really had any problems.

Awesome, used to live over there... Gig Harbor, Seattle, and then over to the eastern part of Washington in Spokane. I checked out the Bremerton Naval base once with my pops many years ago. Got a few friends that live on Widby(sp?) Island still.

Whidbey Island :) I am going to move over to Port Orchard right near Gig Harbor once we get back. Where are you in VA? I am trying to get orders to Norfolk when my time comes up so I can be closer to home (Indianapolis).

I live in Warrenton, VA which is about 3 hours N-NW of Norfolk.

Whidbey Island, an online buddy of mine lives there...hi RexB :wavey:. It's definitely a nice part of the world from all the snaps I've seen, although a little cool for me in the winter time.

Yeah, it is a nice area. I really like it in Washington. Being able to travel 30 mins and be in the mountains or 15 mins and be at a beach(although it is always COLD water) is really nice.

I was actually supposed to be in Brisbane about a month ago but they decided to cancel that port visit. I was really looking foward to it. Spent 3 weeks in Perth back in 02/03 and had a blast, came out broke as all hell though.

Oh really? We had the USS Ronald Reagan here not that long ago, although not in the port. The powers that be had the ship moored outside Brisbane port due to potential safety concerns...whatever they may have been.

I'm glad you had fun in Perth, it really is a beautiful part of Australia. I hope the locals were polite and showed you a good time. Where abouts did you guys dock? My bro-in-law is a Kelic (Able Seaman) submariner on HMAS Farncombe (EDIT: Sheehan as of the end of this year), which are our Collins class subs and they operate out of Garden Island - Rockingham. They use your Mk.48 torpedo's too but I guess you already know that lol. He has said something about meeting you lads at RIMPAC, I don't know if this is coming up sometime soon, or it may have already happened . Anyway, next time your in Brissie let me know on the forum and I'll send you my email addy and mobile no., and I can show you around when you get some shore leave perhaps. I've included some pics for you if you're interested.

The Reagan is actually the whole reason we aren't pulling in there. During their visit they had alot of problems sucking up silt from the bottom of the harbor which caused both of their reactors to go offline multiple times. I don't think that any carriers will be pulling in anytime in the near future until they figure out what to do about that. I was looking foward to it though and as this is most likely my last cruise I don't think I will ever make it unless I come on my own.

Alot of countries use our stuff on their ships/subs. I can't really keep up with it that much. I do know one thing though....that sub looks so SMALL compared to ours. The missle compartment on the boomers looks bigger than that whole sub. RIMPAC is coming up here soon and we will be part of it. I am on the USS Abraham Lincoln another carrier just like the Reagan. I know in the past we have had some of the Aussies and other countries send over people to take tours and stuff. If your brother gets a chance I would be glad to show him around.

Silt...reactors offline  :eyes: Holy crap that's bad!!! Our Collins class subs are really deep instead of long (I do actually have a drydock pic, but it eludes me at the moment). The Collins class are around 60 metres long, which is miniscule compared to your Los Angeles class, along with the Collins' company of around 55 men and the LA class' 150 odd, yeah? We just don't have your defence budget, with only around 18 million people here roflmao. Best of luck with RIMPAC anyway mate, and I'll be sure to pass the message onto Nathan. Oh btw, is there any possibility of purchasing/ swapping a cap or whatever? I have some Farncombe/Rankin/Decheaneaux and Sheehan caps here (mint and unused) along with other memorabilia if you're interested?
