So I have a Sapphire 6950 2GB graphics card and I have a small problem. I got this card for free of a friend who kind of stuffed up the bios and im fairly sure the repair is as simple as putting back the correct bios. So what has happened is he installed a new bios, this particular card has a bios switch and he switched it while it was in windows and the card will no longer boot.

The card powers up so im pretty sure i just have re flash it to the correct bios, now ive heard of doing it by placing a second gpu into a second pcie socket while my 6950 thats not working is in the first pcie slot and reflashing the the card like that but my problem is that its a micro atx motherboard and it has one pcie slot so i need another solution. What are my options? I already have the bios downloaded and my usb is bootable and ready to go, im just having trouble figuring out how to go about it.

Id appreciate all the help i can get.

Id ask Sapphire about it, just to make sure it is fixable. I wouldnt be surprised if the card was dead after that not so vise move. You should be able to flash just with one card installed, and its not recomended to flash two or more cards at same time(in case of bad flash)

Anyways heres a link to a bios collection for the HD 6950

Id search for some guides for how to do this. I used ATI flash when i did this on my cards

If your mobo has onboard vga then use that,if not its either use a pci card or look up how to "blind flash"
