How long to run Prime95??

Hi I have an "intel core i5 2500K 3.3GHz" at stock clocks. How do u recommend running prime95 just to make sure the temperatures are ok, and the system is stable.

Also, what test should I use

btw, the my CPU Cooler is "Corsair A70"

Is it true that the TJ Max of 2500K is 98°C

Thanks

If you want to test your memory also, you can try using the Blend test and configure to check all of your RAM. Usually 1 - 2 hrs testing with Prime95 would be good enough.

Thanks for replying to my posts.

for fft, how long?

for blend test, how long?

should I first use the fft test then blend test or the otherway round

Well I run blend for at least 10 hours to count it as stable. 24hrs is the considered the practical benchmark. The longer you run it the more thorough the test...so a true test is ran to infinity...

The only practical limit is the temperature but its highest will be reached and maintained from the 17 min mark. Keep an eye out for that and if it's good then let it run overnight.

ive heard its 24hrs

Yup, for full stability testing 24 hrs is a good mark. If you want to try the Blend test, you can use the Custom feature. Make sure you set to the correct # of threads. Check the "Run FFTs in-place" and set your "Memory to use (in MB):" to all installed RAM.

That's what I'd do for the Blend test, but I usually go for the small FFTs and then test RAM via Memtest86+.
