Hit 4380 mhz with sl6ku and pc3500, worth buying pc3700?

Hey there finally went to town on my cpu last night. I have the p4c800-e-d with the vdimm mod and the v core drop mod in place. Ive got to 292 fsb (5:4 1.7250 vcore 3.3 v dimm) that’s with geil 3500’s 2 3-3-6

Do you think its worth investing in some 3700’s Im thinking atm that the cpu probably wont get much further..

bloody good show Gorby - excellent result from that 3.0C. I hope to be able to get somewhere along those line myself next week with my one.

I dont know about the 3700 to be honest - I would say go with PCZ 3700 Gold Rev 2 if you can find some - its' been discontinued unfortunately. I sold my last lot for £120 (2 x 256) - it's like rocking horse **** at the moment.

Got to get the water sorted now, but im waiting for the new nvidia cards. ( n e one want a asus 98000 xt in two weeks or so ) From my exp i dont think water on nb is necessary, but its a defo for the grfx

Oh yeah the new memory has sorted out my vpu crashing, it was definitely a system memory problem as its not happening with current set up. After some investigation i also found that the problem went away when i reduced clock on old pc 4000 corsair stick to 250 fsb, weird hun. Maby the vdimm mod helped to?

sounds like u have a similiar agender to me ill be sending my gear off to get it volt modded and stuff soon then its off to phill to see how he does overclocking it with phase before i buy my phase, lets hope my SL6WK is as good as every1 makes out If it gets above 4ghz im well happy

Im hoping ATi dont make a card better than the nvidea, then ill wait for gainward to make the coolfx version of the 6800 Ultra, then i wont need to mess arround too much with generic blocks

can i ask you what u got on air with that chip of yours?

mine is an SL6WU SL6WU as well malay L401 30 cap one but havent got phase change to test it with.

thing is that i have kept my excellent 2.8M0 which i may keep if its a better clocker than the 3.0C

Now for your ram...

check what stable speed you can get out of your cpu without frying it....

then see whether your ram can do 5/4 at that speed without probs...

theres no point getting some ram that will only help you with a max screen overclock

so do some testing first...see what u can do with your chip...then decide...i would stick for the geil for a while if i was you...

The only experience with this chip I had on air was when I burnt in my old memory. It did 3.6 on default vcore, might have been capable of more dunno. I smashed the S*** out of my intel HS / Fan whilst laughing manically so no more air testing for the puppy . I don’t think the chip is going much further to be honest. Whilst playing the other night I could do 300FSB @ 1.75V (unstable) but this booted twice and now system will never boot @ 1.75, thinking I may be able to get this sorted by tweaking the droop mod….

yeah bang on 4.5! I was meant to be doing a big server migration this w/e but that’s been cancelled so I have plenty of time to play.

I think im gonna mod my psu so i can get 3.5 v dimm, ill also post pics of all my mods (dropp, dimm maby psu)

I think I maybe able to squeeze a few more after ive sorted out the 1.75v problem.

this doesnt look like a malay chip does it?

go for an SL6Z5 if you can like mine, but still you can never tell how a chip would clock

Am just starting work on crappy psu now, if all goes well ill do my antec 500 later.. well see if the extra .2 V's helps soon heheh
