Higher than standard 1920x1080 gaming

I personally dont like the idea of havin the bezels break the display. So i got a 27 inch 2560x1440 and it is incredible. You beed to have a system capable of rilunning it thogh as i have tried mw3 at medhigh mix on my work pc with a 4870 and a e8600 it sits at about 30 then drops to single digits fairly frequently

I currently game at 1920 x 1200, but if I want to game at a higher resolution in the future I will get a larger screen rather than 3 smaller ones as I don't like the bezels breaking the display like Sparkle said. A 27"/30" screen will provide a really nice resolution.

One thing to take into account here is the amount you will spend for the additional resolution. Past 1920x1200 the cost is going to go up massively. A 2560x1600 monitor is going to set you back close to £1000, enough to build an entire new system!

The samsung sa850 27" 2560x1440 is £550 which is meant to be a brilliant screen. Hopefully I will get one soon if I save up enough.

The hazro ips monitors are probably the best bang for buck, seeing that the picture quality looks awesome and the prices are really good.

if samsung made a monitor like the 27" S27A950D Series 9 LED 3D but with a resolution of 2560x1440, i would really start to dave up for one, i just like the design of it, around the top and sides, the bezels are thin, a mate of mine has got it with 3d and its just truly awesome

Yep, I agree. The screen is way too large for a 1080p res. I would jump on one straight away like you as it is one sexy display.

Points from me, similar to some of the above.

1. Don't like bezels breaking up the image.

2. 1440p just seems too much at the mo and you pay for it - screens are expensive and so is the hardware you'll need to run it with decent fps. The total cost of a decent 1440p setup must be twice what a 1080p system is. It's not worth it in my book.

3. For me it totally depends on what I'm doing. For PC gaming I tend to sit on a desk with a 27" which is more than big enough - multiple screens would just mess with peripheral vision and I'd just end up moving my head or moving the seat back which kinda seems to defeat the point.

4. As for sitting on a couch; I think it's got to be projection for true immersion. Fill a wall with the image and you just can't beat it! But you have to accept input lag in a lot of projectors which would affect fast gameplay (there are some projectors which have no noticable lag though).
