Hi there,
I have been having this high latency problem since I first got my rig and cannot figure out what to do.

My specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 955
GTX 670
Asus M4A88TD-V USB3/EVO
Corsair HX 750
Corsair Force 3 120GB

My issue is that all games and audio lag and is accompanied by a buzzing sound.

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

I had an audio prob with BF3, to fix it I had to change the sample rate in the audio manager.

Right click on the volume key in windows and select playback devices. Right click on your playback device (the one with the green tick on it) and select properties, then click the advanced tab.

Where it says default format, click the drop down menu and select 24 bit 44100mhz.

That should fix it, did for me anyway.

I also had a problem with my surround sound in BF3 as well which made a buzzing noise, which maybe the same one you are having.

In the sys tray, double click the realtek speaker icon to open the audio manager, where it says speaker configuration, change your speaker configuration to quadraphonic.

Thanks for the replies. Yes I am using a wired connection and my ISP is Tesco broadband. SieB I cannot try that fix atm because I did a clean install so no BF3. However its not just on BF3 that I get this.

It might be your speaker configuration then, I had problems in all games until I switched my configuration from 5.1 surround (which I have) to quadraphonic.

try adding bf3 to the exceptions in the windows firewall and in the antivirus. restart and try it again. worked for me back when i used to play bfbc2

Gave that a shot but the latency is still off the charts.

Any other suggestions?

I disabled GTX 670 in device manager and the latency has completely gone. What should I do now?

Might be a driver problem then, try some of the older Nvidia drivers and see if they work.

Check your bios to make sure C1e is off. I enabled it to try and help reduce power consumption whilst idle and i got massive lag spikes with my 955. Cool 'n' quiet on it's own was all i needed without C1e.

Edit: missed the bit above about your 670. Could well be a driver issue. Does a 670 have a built in sound device for HDMI audio out?
