High Gain Antenna's

Ola,

I'm looking to buying a decent antenna for a point to multi-point installation. ie, my house to the village (i live in the highest house of the village).

I want to stay away from omni-directional as signal would be pretty wasted as theres just fields behind the house. So i'm looking at the sector directional antenna. So far i've found a couple, both about 17db with either a 120 degree or 180 degree coverage.

Do we have any wireless installers on here with any advice? One big question i have is how much of an effect would putting this in the attic be?

to point over the top of the village i live in....... fon, yes fon, thats it!

i'm undecided on if i should set my own up or use fon. Chillispot looks pretty good.

i also have good line of site to my mates house 3 miles away. i would use a yagi antenna if i were to do this.

Mounting inside the attic? I'd mount it outside, would give improved signal (make sure it's waterproof and out of blazing sun).
