I don't think the game looks as good anymore.

Has it been taken down a notch or is it just because a fair bit of time has gone by since we first saw it? The graphics don't excite me anymore either way.

It undeniably looks beautiful but much like Shaun i also believe it has had a slight downgrade since the first time I saw screen shots. Not quite watchdogs level but I do wonder if it's been done

Something is deffo not right, Geralt is still at fantastic detail levels, but the scenery looks like a highly modded Skyrim now.. what gives?

Maybe it's simply that specific place that has less grass? It's not like grass looks exactly the same and has the same density everywhere irl too.

Also, it's 4K. I doubt it's the super highest quality graphics in that picture. Unluess they are running. I don't know what were the circumstances of taking this screenshot.
It looks great to me either way.

"The game will release on May 19th, so gamers have exactly one more month to upgrade their systems for this demanding title.". That would be 2 months.

At the GDC, NVIDIA admitted when they ran the demo on the Titan X they had Super Sampling disabled as it was crippling the card :o

Gamers gonna need some serious juice to max this bad boy at launch, that explains the slightly lower details in the OP image.

I think its a case of them lowering settings. Explains the lack of detail and density. Think this was more aimed at 4k to showcase Geralt's character than anything

You can just google and compare the grass, the above screenshot has nothing on this.

Anyone thinking these pics are actual gameplay pics need their head checking to be honest :p

This is what a lot of people are getting the whole "downgrade" idea from. These pics are obviously promotional cinematic pics, some people actually expected the game to look like they do.
The funny thing is they have been showing gameplay and exactly how the game looks since E3 lat year.

To be honest i'm not that bothered about graphics, especially in an RPG. To many games these days focus to much on the graphics and not enough on the gameplay and mechanics.

The game still looks great even if it has had a downgrade. But i'd rather have a graphically downgraded game with solid gameplay and no bugs than a game with stupidly demanding graphics that is riddled with bugs and crappy gameplay.

At the end of the day, I play games for the gameplay, not to stare at the pretty graphics. Although it is nice to have both good graphics and a bugless game with good gameplay, the two working together doesn't happen very often though.

Yeah its a cinematic sequence but you can tell it is in-game graphics. Even if you look at the non-cinematic stuff it looks better.

Thats also true that because its 4K they would turn down the graphics, but why not turn them all the way up, even if it judders and stutters like mad just to catch the 4K screenshot? Thats what they are doing after all, just showing the visuals in a single image...

The game has deffo been downgraded, there was a recent video of it and it looked poop to what it used to look like. Could of been on consoles but I'm sure it was on PC.
