so i need help picking out a power supply for my build. I know i need at least 850 for my watts but i don't know if i need to add in the 100 watt fan controller that is on my tower?? The tower I'm using is a NZXT Phantom, which the controller is build in on so it has to be used.

so any help would is welcomed

might help to know all the particulars of ur build but if ya can swing it extra power is always good first off it allows the psu to work easier and secondly you'll have room to grow with.

the fan controller doesnt use 100W -/-

it can control up to 100w of fans, and let me give you an example a xigmatek 140mm fan uses 3.6 Watts of electricity and a xigmatek 120mm uses 2.4 Watts so unless you plan on using 30-50 fans i wouldnt worry about it

Its also a good idea to have a bit too much power now because powersupplies gradually lose wattage over the years.

sorry i forgot to mention the components that I'll be using

I7 2600k

maximums extreme 4

8GB mushkin redline ram

EVGA 570HD

1 SSD

1 Mechanical HD

blu-ray burner

i think that it. i'm pretty sure 850 is enough but i'm not positive

850 is most adequate for that prolly a lil on the overkill side but it'll leave ya room to grow

Corsair HX850w or HX1050w

I have an AX850 for a 2500K and a GTX 580, the thing would just about handle 580s in SLI, you're more than alright for single 570
