I'm looking to buy a 1440p monitor, my specs are fx 8320 8gb corsair 1866 ram and an msi R9 290 gaming.

I have been looking for a little over a week now and tried to get an asus pb278q from ebay but the the price went too high last minute so that didn't work out. I also would like to buy some speakers for watching films so I would like to save some money, but it will mostly be used for gaming and I will use my headset for that.

I came across a "b grade" pb278q for £299 on overclockers uk and wanted opinions on that possibility, and maybe some other suggestions.

Budget is around £300.

I think for me that 5ms is fine, I hardly play fps games and like you said the colours are good that is what I want really.

I could go up in budget but the more I go up the more I feel I may as well buy a new pb278q. there is also the AOC Q2770PQU I just haven't looked that up yet.

edit: Let's say I can go up to £350-400 at most that is a lot of money tho

I'd recommend the Dell UltraSharp U2713HM or the Asus PB278Q, I own the Dell and I've used the Asus at a mate's both are very nice monitors for gaming, everyday-use and also foto/video editing

I wouldn't get a b-grade model, if there's something wrong with it like a dead or bright red/green pixel it will drive you nuts once you've noticed it

Crossover and Qnix are the korean brand monitors. They are much cheaper than the Dell/Asus ones and a few people on this forum actually have them and love them. These monitors are known for their OC potential whereas the others are not.

Worth looking into with a tight budget.

Thanks for the replies, I had looked at korean monitors but I would rather scrape together a bit more money and get something with better build quality and not have to worry about any complications it may have.

so I guess I save a little bit more and probably get the pb278q thanks again for the help. :)
