Help with my fan setup

I need some advice on the best fan setup for my case.

I have a Thermaltake XaserIII, which has 7 80mm fans (2 front, 2 side, 2 rear, 1 top). My CPU, chipset and VGA coolers, and PSU are very good so no problems there.

The 2 main problems I have are airflow and noise.

Currently I use the fan controller that came with the case to control all 7 fans, the problem with this is that all the fans, and the controller have huge molex connectors, which makes organising the wiring very difficult, I also have a lot of devices (3 HDD, 3 expansion cards, 2 optical drives, FDD, front case light etc) in the case which once again adds to the wiring problem.

It also sounds like a jet engine starting up... once again this is not fault of the CPU, VGA, chipset or PSU fans as when i turn the case fans way down i cant hear it very much at all, until it heats up and i need to turn them up again.

I'm running a P4 prescott 3.4Ghz overclocked to 3.6Ghz so obviously that pumps out a lot of heat, add all the hard drives and 4 DIMMs of DDRII and it makes reducing the fan count unviable.

I'm about to buy an Asus P5WDH which has 4 inbuilt fan connectors so what I need is a reccomendation for a 3 fan+ fan controller with small connectors and also for some new, quiet and efficient 80mm fans, obviously with small connectors also. I'm not however looking for anything flash, I can't stand LED's and stuff like that.

I'm also in the market for some different power cables, the PSU doesn't have enough connectors so I'm making do with a multitude of generic splitters/converters which are obviously way too long and making the wiring a nightmare. What is the best place to shop in the UK for different sorts of power cabling accessories?

Cheers.

Yate loon, silent X or panfolw for the fans. Heard sharkoon golfball like ones are good too.

my sunon fans ive just got off ebay real cheap are pretty quiet too and blow a surprising amount of air

ok finally got around to buying some new fans, got me 7 Silenx 80mm 14dba fans at around £7 each :)

only problem is that the leads are not long enough to reach my fan controller so I'm gonna need some extension cables, where can I go for these?

I have found some cables retailing for £4 each which is rediculous, if I can't find any at decent prices I'm just gonna cut at extend the cables my self with a soldering iron, and it would be a shame to do such a thing to such nice fans so anyone have any a suggestions for reasonably priced cables?

Cheers

60 cm fan extension cables can be found here mate. Just flick Ayd and the boys a post into the ST Forum here and see when the extensions are expected back in stock.

In order to tidy up the fan cabling in my system I common the wiring up for fans that are close together so that 1 molex powers both fans, so in my case I have the front 2 fans commoned together and the rear and top fan commoned together, each pair then goes to a temp sensitive fan controller, the temp sensitive controllers take care of the fan speeds and increase the speed if need be.

It's a bit difficult to explain in text but using the above only each temp sensitive fan controller needs powering using a molex and save on heaps of wiring.

Where did I get the temp controllers from? I got 2 of these out of some old PC PSUs that my company was dumping, wish I'd removed a few more now as they are pretty useful things to have.
