Hi guys

I was looking about upgrading my processor and mobo and was looking for your advice on this i am willing to spend £400 on it (pay day lol :p ). I was thinking of getting a quad core or core 2 duo? What do you think

Thanks in advance

really depends on your needs, if you do video, photo editing then go for Quad, but if you just play games then C2D will suffice.

I have just ordered E6750 and a ABIT IP35 Pro, they seem to work ok together, you could of course spend a little more and get a quad core but as already posted, only really needed if you do a lot of editing.

Future games are multi core - Crysis uses 4 cores, Sup Com does, more will follow.

IF you find a G0 Q6600 that would clock nicely and be more of a keeper.

E6850 should clock to around 4ghz.

Penryn come end of year so bear that in mind (45nm die shrink)

To be honest I would hold back if looking now.

Their is new offerings from AMD en route, and Intel no doubt have more price cuts due to come into the markets.

Buy if you must but like me I would hold back for the next generation.
