So basically i bought a samsung pro ssd, burnt a windows iso to a disk, took my hdd out of my laptop, enabled ahci, booted up with ssd in and installed windows, it said my disk is not compatible or whatever, so i tried my hdd, it was formatted, all my shit was gone, so i plugged my ssd back in, installed ubuntu, go it working, but when i rebooted, it says operating system not found, i tried my hdd and ssd, i can install stuff as many times as i want, it just says operatin system not found, im using a samsung r580 with a 11JB BIOS, please help, im pretty much screwed atm...

Check the boot list in your bios. Make sure the SSD or whatever you're booting from is top of the list. The "Operating system not found" message can come from the bios if it can't find an install to boot from.

It is, my hdd is at the top when thats plugged in, and so is the ssd, my hdd was wirking fine, but after input the ssd in, the hdd got formatted and now it has no operating system...

yeah, i feel stupid now, it was just a bit of dust or something on the connector, i wiped it and its all sorted now /facepalm

so did the install finish?
try different iso, check ssd in another machine, disable ahci and try that as well. it will hamper performance only slightly.

you didnt read my last post, it was just a bit of dust on the connectors, last thing i thought of was to clean the connectors, after i wiped them everything was fine, although my ssd isnt quite as fast as the last one i had, even though this one is a samsung pro series
