Help?? Bios issues???

right im confused, im doing a little Nes PC project as seen on here, now... iv got it all together and the laptop cd drive was abit funny so i thought ok... il try another, got a normal cd rom and tryed that.... same error... and then another... i dunno whats going on??

the cd's are fine im trying windows 2003 server & XP Live yet none of them are working?

alarmingly the live CD said something about a broken bios??? the guy i got it off on ebay mentioned the board had the latest bios version could he have screwed it up??

help?

Extremely broken bios detected :S that doesn't sound good....

You could always try flashing it yourself with the latest version?

hmm i guess, never actually done a bios flash b4 tho...

its just.. everything else seems to be working i can go into setup and change things, its running ok it just wont boot a cd :S

Odd.. You know that drive works too as you had it working on another computer didn't you?

Flashing the bios isn't difficult and isn't anything to worry about as long as its done properly.. Have a read and take a look.. If then its still not working at least you know its not a dead bios.

well i downloaded a windows 98SE boot disk in ISO format, burnt it and it worked

which is wierd... but shows the bios is ok

and yeah i tested that cd rom drive on my server it was fine
