[help]Asus GTS250 bios flash to pcie gen1

Hello!
My first post around here : )

I have the following problem..

I recently got an Asus GTS250 on my hands and tried installing it in an old computer. The PC didn't even POST with this card so I figured the card was busted. Later on I tested the VC on another PC and found out that was not the case.

The PC has a really old motherboard(P5V-VM Ultra) with PCI-e v1.0a and with the latest bios upgrade. It has one of those via chipsets that can't handle pci-e gen2 video cards.. I searched around and found out that people had success with flashing the video card bios (the case was with 8800GT) and 'forcing' it to work as a pcie gen1.

I downloaded NiBiTor (ver 6.0.6 and 5.1 which both have added support for GTS250) and loaded up some random bios for the Asus GTS250, what I found out was that the option to set the pcie generation is disabled (greyed out).. I tried different bioses from different vendors but no luck :/ Loading the card's own bios ended up the same way..

I went ahead and loaded some random bios for the 8800GT just to make sure the option to "set pcie gen" was even available at all, and it was.

I was wondering if anyone around here was in a similar situation and managed to resolve it somehow?

Any help would be really appreciated!

I honestly think that youre putting a lot of effort into something which could end up bricking your card dude. If the other PC is that old why dont you just get some older crappy GPU for it off fleabay for 10quid and save yourself all this time?
