I found this place while looking for some information on finishing out my newest systems (via YT). I must say I am humbled by the depth of this website and the obvious commitment from TRUE enthusiasts. Hope I can contribute in some way.

Thanks for the kind words. My first system was an Apple 2 plus (which was modded with 2...count em' 2 FDD's and CGA!!!!). So I doubt I am throwing in the towel for a while yet.

I am a music/multimedia producer, by trade. So the technology is in my blood. It is what allows me to create what I imagine. So I am always keen to help out *mushy techno love*

i got out of system building for a stint with some Apple rigs. Which I still managed to hack to pieces and mod

seems like this is the place for the l33t case guys....and i4memory is the place for the l33t tech junkies (they argue about voltage regulation and theoretical math over there).....

Yes I loved SG and Temple of the Dog. Mr. Cornell sure used to be able to hit those high notes "I'm goin' hunggggryyyy-----eeeeeeehhhhh" *atrocious Cornell impression*

Then I saw him recently at an AudioSlave concert

What exactly is the deal with this folding thing? I have heard about if for some time now, and never really bothered to do any research or ask anyone. I mean I understand that it's protein folding analysis, but exactly what is the prize for donating your system resources?? Is it just another benchmarking contest of sorts? To see who can get the highest score?? Does the data turned over really help any research? Is there a way for end users to see the results of their contributions??

I know lots of questions.....sorry bout that.

I would like to know more though

interestingly my ISP is blocking the stanford f@h page

I did go read about it in the forum though.....I still don't get what the prize is?

I mean you guys are doing this on dedicated rigs??? *scratches head*

If it's truly being done for science....then I applaud your nobility.....

I couldn't imagine running all my hardware maxed out 24/7.....the Sherrif will think I have a pot farm in my basement or something....

Well science comes first and we are also FOLDING for a very good friend of ours "Phill" he sadly passed away 4years ago in a swimming accident
