since there are so many smart people here i thouhgt you guys could tell me the average processor temperature (in Celceus) and well all the normal temperatures for everything

thanks :)

depends on your processor and where you live...

i am from brazil, and my normal processor temperature (Athlon XP 2400+) is 43 to 44°C. But i didin´t done a good colling system... in 3 days i will get my coolermaster thermal past and put in processor.. then i am thinking to get to 40°C :P

PS.. i´ve done a small OC...

Well my AMD Athlon 3200+ Barton stay at around 29deg at idle and reaches up to 48-50 at full load. But then I do have a nice HSF and case with it. :D

Temperatures can be anywhere from 20-80 C these days. I'm proud to say I've held 80C on my barton 2800 over night without damaging it and at the same reaching 120C in my hdd without damaging it. :boink:

ok thanks i got AMD 1300MHZ living in canada i just checked the temperature (using pc wizard) it said 70C

seems kinda high

well unknow, i think that 70C is much... buy a cooler master premium thermal past, remove your cooler and put again...

maybe your cooler have an old thermal past and isn´t working good... try to see if the cooler is clean.. if you don´t clean every month can be much "dirty" (bad english)... look if is clean

ok ill clean it lol i never cleaned it before :( i am just learning about computers so slowly ill get everything with ur help thanks man

Yeah but keeping your cpu temp at 80deg will shorten the life of it to be sure! :(

Yeah, I bet I killed a year off with it. I won't torment my A64 as much. My 2800 was always at 50C idle and 55C load. My A64 @ current 2.4 ghz is 30 idle and 40-45C load.

I would say any higher than 55 degrees on an xp2400+ would be asking for trouble. Get a new HS and that would sort the problem out if your temps are getting to high.

currently runing at 37 degrees load on my prescott. goes to show that even stock coolers can do well with good case fan arrangement :)

You can't really define processor temperature in general, there are just too many factors. Better to compare directly with another CPU of the same brand, model and speed... for the purposes of this thread, though:

35-45 Degrees idle, 45-68 load.

Thats pretty good. My xp2400+ is running at 49 degrees load. And im using a stock heat sink and a 80 ml delta van. + top case fan

120ºC? Most HDD's rated MAX temp, is around 50ºC, and would probabally fail at around 70ºC. I find it hard to believe a HDD could even get that warm unless it was in a sealed & insulated container with a space heater pointing on it performing a low level format.

sorry to say but mine was around 70 i did a lil claning opened the case up n i didnt check the temp yet but i hope it gets back to normal and also if it doesnt ill get extra fans n other stuff for it

39C idle ( more like normal stuff , like winamp and browsing and stuff )

44c full load

SP97 + Enermax Silent 92 mm fan

One of the cheapest and easiest ways to lower the temps on a processor is Lappying the hsf and using Arctic Silver 5 or Ceramique . Those both combined should give u about 10 C drop in temps . I agree with others , 70C is tooo much for long life of the processor .
