im looking for a headset to go with the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD. i will be using it for gaming and video editing and have a $200 -$250 budget give or take

A $200headset on an x-fi card is a waste. I would be looking in the $75 to $100 range. The x-fi just does not have the quality a $200 headset demands.

this card is one of the best cards, i think your thinking of another card!

i have one as well, its amazing!

Sorry dude your are mistaking. The specs of the card are easy to look up. X-if is meant for gaming at really high volume with little distortion. But lacks in audio fidelity. 96khz is its limit. Which is okay but is barely minimum for a $200 headset.

A $200 headset requires a 192khz with atleast a dedicated headphone amp to make that $200 headset worth it, or it won't sound any better than a $150 headset AT MOST.

im looking to have good quality and be able to pick people out from the direction there coming from (so surround i think im not relly good with headset terminology but know what im looking for)

I use mine and it's set @ 192khz :s I would screen shot it, but not at home at the moment.

Yea you can, but once you start cranking up the volume you will start hearing distortion. Creative rates the x-fi card at 92khz. My xonar for example is rated at 192khz. I have had a x-fi card and with my klipsch and Bose sound system it distorts when set to 192khz. Your card will sound better if you drop it.

You could prob get a xonar + steelseries siberia v2 and have change left over from $250 (or stick with x-fi + siberia)

Or if you want quality don't buy a 'gaming' headset but instead get high end stereo headphones + seperate mic

I personally wouldn't bother with the 'surround' headsets as I had speedlink medusa's and the sound was worse than my current stereo headset setup on 5.1>stereo, can hear footsteps etc in cs:s much easier and with much more accuracy.

Also the medusa's were heavy and weren't comfortable at all.

Depends on what you want tho as KING_OF_SAND said, do you want high quality sound or surround sound

will that go with the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD because it has the 5 outputs and the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD only has the mic and headphone output so do i need a sound card with them outputs

wow that card looks weird

where are all the other outputs

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Sennheiser PC360 G4me all the way. Best headset I've ever had, and I've had quite a few.

OHHHH I thought you were referring to this card (http://www.amazon.com/Creative-SB0886-Titanium-Fatal1ty-Professional/dp/B0018EFGTM)!!

If you have the one you posted you cannot do surround without it being emulated. You have an audiophile card not a gamer card. Although it will play games, it is meant for high quality stereo.

I knew you had the wrong card, as the card we Have is Not for gamming but it is one of the best audiophile cards out there, I got it for music production due to low latency and ASIO compliency!!!!

Edit: you should have looked at the link I sent you !

The Titanium HD is a good card, I had one before I had to sell it for cash. The only way to get 5.1 out the card becided the emulation. Is the DD live and DTS encoders which is for encoding 5.1 into Digital 5.1 so games would out put in 5.1 thru Digital.

As for headsets' I would suggest you get a good price of stereo headphones and use CMSS3D headphone with speakers settings in both windows sound panel and games set to 5.1. The sound get spreads out that way.

Then for a mic you can use a clip on mic.
