Hard Drive Help!

Hey Guys,

Hoping you can help. I built myself a new computer a few months back and its running great so now i'm ready to transfer most of my data from my old computer over to my new one.

What i was wanting to know is, can this be done as easy as connecting the old hard drive into the new computer even though it has windows installed on it? Would it show up as an external drive?

Or will i have to load up my old computer and stick everything on an external drive. My only worry with this is my old computer was shutting itself down randomly and i don't want to be in the process of transferring over data and it shutting down...

As long as your old drive has a Sata connection that it shouldn't be a problem. You may have to select the boot order in your bios but it certainly won't screw up your current Windows install or anything.
