Hi all,

i'm a Brit living in Southern Cali, I work as a 3D Designer specialising in Product and Industrial design and visualisation.

I have recently built 2 X99 machines (one work and one play) and ams till trying to get my head around the new UEFI on the X99 Deluxe.

I will have many questions about the X99 platform and gratefully accept any advice and help on this.

I in return am happy to answer to the best of my knowledge any questions peeps have about 3D software and design.

Happy to have you here, welcome to the OC3D forums, I'll more than likely be requesting your knowledge in 3D design :p at some point.

Hey Wraith! Sure thing, I use 3DSMax 2015 and solidworks 2014 mostly. Render using Vray 3.0. I have a broad range of knowledge about other software but they are my speciality.

Oh and i do consulting work for 3D printing if you like that kinda thing too.

I mainly do it as a hobby, currently (mid) making a MK2 Ford Fiesta XR2 which will be going into Assetto Corsa and hopefully Need for Speed Shift. Just got to get my head around the physics setup.

All done using Blender.

Nice! Are you the guy TTL is always singing the praise of in his vids? Kudos Sir. There seems to be a slight normal issue on the skirt under the door closest to the rear wheel and some slightly shifty polys on the far side of the bonnet above the spots (forgive me but i did a job for Audi and i'm very familiar with the problems with getting car lines and normals to smoothly flow).

Getting a nice lighting setup is crucial for getting the most out of a shot too. THis guys page on shoots for Aston Martin is great for illustrating the diff between setting a mood.

It should be noted however every shot has some photoshop work on it. I find doing separate renders/passes for each light and then compositing the passes as additive layers in PS can give you much more immediate control over lighting than waiting an age for a multi light AO render to finish every time.

Ha ha yea I did a few simple small model renders for Tom, I have to admit blender you sometimes have to beat with a stick to get it to behave and the normals have a mind of their own, I probably chose the hardest thing in the world to start out with in terms of modeling considering I only started in November, with the aid of Blenderguru and youtube tutorials. It is highly addictive and hugely time consuming.

Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, love learning new things and being creative in a new way. New skills and a new found respect for designers especially games designers and animators, when you understand just how much hard work and effort that goes into creating these things.. it blows my mind.
