Hanging Up Me Benching Boots..... For Now!

Title says it all guys,

I have had my benchmarking fun with the equipment I now have at my disposal and think I have gone as far as I can with what I have.

It had it's low's (oh so very low at times!!) and it's highs (and they have been great) and I have enjoyed setting the 'bar' in the new generation of GFX cards and quite simply 3.545Ghz is as much as I can squeeze out of the FX55 with what I have.

Just ordered me a 24" widescreen monitor so that I can enjoy all the gaming goodness these 7800's can provide, which for me is the next adventure. Gotta get some USB headphones too so I can get online with CLAN EPUK!!

So until something new comes along (physics chip, fully dual core support) I hang up them benching boots

It's in the hands of new blood now (nick25, rra, scorchio, zax) and old blood with new kit (living l@rge, Dazboots) to continue to fight the good fight and keep TEAM EPUK at the number one spot where it belongs - we've certainly given the other site s a few shocks so far, lets shock em even more

Of course Coach Maverik-sg1 will be here to help when required or just to cheer on those that try and congratulate those that succeed

Either way it's TEAM EPUK 4EVA

Good Benching Guys

:) haha shame to see you stop now. However i see the point and its great to know u wont be leaving the community. Its nice to see someone so dedicated wanting to join the clan showing already that it will be a success :)

Also along with your 24" moniter and USB headphones dont forget to buy HL2. The thing you need most !

You'll be back Mav... ;)

I agree...Once bitten and all that :D

After sellng my top bits n bobs and thinking im just going down the easy street route, ive bought Harry's GT and now thinking about getting a new chip.

Its in your blood d00d :D

yep i had a realisation this weekend mate its just tooooo expensive and i buy the cheap stuff lol

but when u kill 3 mobo`s in a week its kind of damming loool

Thx for leaving me out again mav - I'll be taking your top spot soon enough though :p - as soon as my ram and watercooling gets here in fact. Sort of worried about the ram as the courier tracking says it's been shipped :(.

Maybe one day SAS, myself and others will be in a position to take up the reins.... money and time...

Is this a drawback of buying into the latest technology as soon as its available... its tweaked and maxxed too fast?

Sorry to disappoint - I am keep all the kit I have with a few additions:

2x 1GB sticks of Crucial Ballistix and the 24" Widescreen TFT I ordered over the weekend.

I have been through the motherboard pain and feel for anyone in a similar situation of blowing up more than one in a week - thats the price we pay for our art.

Someone once said the first casulaty of war is innocence - in this case it was several innocent motherboards LOL.

I will be back of course, u know it, I know it, but the stuff I have now has gone as far as it's gonna go without breaking - the cost is high and I have taken as many risks as I can with this kit.

Unfortunately the kit I need to go even faster is not available yet (full dual core support in benchie software, or the Physics chip).

This is the first time in a long long time where my CPU has been the bottleneck of good performance.

TEAM EPUK 4EVA!!

More like the cooling for your chip. If you had a cascade then the numbers would certainly increase :)

Thats a good point Rockingdave mate - but even when you look at the cascade guys scores (not to mention the rigs are as big as my house!!) thay are not that far ahead - leaving me to believe that there is not a system fast enough out there to relaise the full potential of the graphics cards.

One of the reasons why I think the 32pipe versions will not be successful until either:

a) The Physics GPU is released

or

b) Programs that are successfully dual core optimised are released

Then and only then will we see the true power unleashed.

Coach Mav

@Gollum sorry for leaving you out mate - it was a delinquent oversight on my behalf and having seen your scores so far it looks like when get ur system fully up to the spec u want it could be a world beater.

TEAM EPUK 4EVA!!

The Coach

Well mate sorry to see you quit I have only just joined this community reckon I can kick ur scores into next week LOL.

Although I guess it's good to quit at the top of your game.

BTW - been using your tweaking guide, it helped me find a few extra marks - now just a few more ;)

I think TEAM EPUK can really do some damage here, lets see how long we can remain number 1.

The biggest problem we (if I can say we after only 4 posts) have is superpi1m - Mav's score is impressive, but not as impressive as thickbrit, especially as that was achieved quite a while back.

The Legend :D
