Half-Life Ray Traced is now available to download

with the texture quality RT does not help much. =00=

thought i would love to see a new title that makes me enjoy a game this much.

Now bring it to Black Mesa and HL2, I'm not impressed by RT/PT being clamped onto 2+ decade old games.

It wouldn't be possible. That is why they keep on picking old games. To do it properly in a modern game with a modern engine would need a 999999990.

Same thoughts not on a game i have intrest in as like you say not enough of a difference on a game 20 years old if it was done right on HL2 then fine.

it still amazes me HL hasn't had more love since Alyx but at least we know a 2nd is coming sometime before i die lol

In fairness, anyone who's under the age of 30 may never have had the chance to play HL, even with Black Mesa. Maybe they've always wanted to but held back for whatever reason. This just gives them another reason beyond Black Mesa.

I played BM all the way through again recently. I'd totally forgotten how much I hated the stupid last two levels in space. It really is a bore fest and I can see why they left all that cack out in HL2.

Really enjoyed the rest though.

Yeah, I've not met a person who thought the last two levels were good.

In that case instead of full path tracing I'd "simply" like to see RTGI, RT reflections and RTAO added to older games like the Arkham series, Dishonoured, Red Dead Redemption 2 etc...

Aye but that doesn't keep people buying does it?

RT was a way for Nvidia to take their GPUs back to the bat and ball game stage of the 70s and keep people buying for years.
