What mobo would you guys recomend for a budget g3258 build that is H97 / z97?

I was looking at the:

Gigabyte H97MD3H - 85.95e

Asrock H97M Anniversary - 76.96e

MSI H97ME35 - 72.95e

I all ready have the G3258 just laying around so I want o use it but I dont know what mobo will do it justice for a budget build.

I had the Asus H97 pro gamer and it was epic, clocked to 4.6GHz on the G3258. Definitely a full feature budget board to consider.

But that is a ATX mobo or? I all ready have a Micro ATX case for the mobo so I am looking at a Micro Atx MOBO only...

Out of the ones you listed, I'd say either the Asrock or Gigabyte. If you want MSI i'd be tempted to get the H97M-G43 model instead.

The other question is do all these boards have support for Frequency and voltage control? Just because the one thing you MUST do with a G3258 is give it the beans. :)

That I dont know, I am also asking what micro atx board around this price range would be best for the G3258.

Well I thought H97 supported CPU overclocking, but doing a google search only Asus boards do with the latest BIOS update on H97 chipsets. Otherwise you need a Z97 series board to overclock. Pretty sure Z87 boards support the G3258 iirc too

Most H97 boards have a little in the way of OC capabilities but they are usually limited to only Frequency multipliers and voltage control, things like LLC and BCLK editing are not available, best to check with the manufacturer for Bios/UEFI features.
