h100i stops rig booting.

So, hi, I'm a bit confused.

I'm in the process of replacing a Noctua D14 with a H100i. But for some reason When the H100i is touching the cpu it won't boot, but when the D14 is it will.

I've even kept both coolers plugged into the motherboard so there is no difference in power consumption or connections. It seems that simply, when the plate of the h100 is touching the cpu it doesn't work.

I've suspected for a while that the connection between the cpu and motherboard is a bit dodgy. (The reason I'm changing from the D14 is its so big and heavy, it puts a lot of stress on the mother board when I move the computer and since I moved it in a car a while ago I've had a lot of BSOD). But far from fixing the problem the h100 seems to be worse.

Am I missing something fundamental. (or stupid). Or am I right that its a dodgy connection.)

Thanks in advance

could be the weight has pulled the socket so now you have a lighter cooler it doesn't connect right. you sure you've tighten it up enough?
