'Gulftown' May Not Require New Motherboards

Although the CPUs may be compatible with the motherboard, I reckon these new CPUs may be out of the reach of the vast majority of 920 owners =P

Hmm, maybe. There are rumours that these Gulftowns will be EE only, but I can't see that happening.
 
is there is any info on the compatability list of mobo's and if the FSB drops on non-standerd MOBOs I.E ones that need a bios update,like the way THE amd chips has a drop in the HTlink from 5200-2000Mhz??

Hmm, I couldn't see much sense in that, as these are designed for servers, so extreme editions would seem a little out of place, with wanting servers to be as stable as possible =S
 
Thank god, Tom did me that lovely build with the Asus R2E and block ;)

Now as Tom says I am a rich boy, one of these will be on the shopping list... :)
