A guy on a chinese site, that I could half read, hinted at this. All I could make out was that he obtained a GTX280 and naturally took it apart, with pics showing the latest gpu under the cooler.

I assumed that the run of GTX280 coming out after what seemed to be a 2/3 week vanish of them off the shelves, may well be the case, as the 260-216 was already out (which I figured was the 270).

Whether the one I have now is or not the newer gpu, I aint really bothered, but I edged my bets with a farcry2 pack also.

260x2 ... dunno, not really interested in the benchmarking line of gfxcards, I prefer 1 for 1 for real life action.

Similarly, I'd promote a 4870, but not 4870x2.

hrm what to look for on the core to see if you have the new one? (mine isn't very old) i'll be taking the stock cooler off mine soon (hopefully anyway still waiting on a part)

The one question that strikes me here is - When will Nvidia stop competing with themselves?

shall do that once she's back setup (room re-arrange yesterday nothing hooked up yet :'()

any ideas what numbers to look for?
