GTX 700 series drivers broken?

I used to have a gtx 660 ti that ran Bioshock infinite / shadow warrior / borderlands 2 just fine.
Then i upgraded to a 760 and have had no luck getting it to run stable since.
The 660 ti used to run mentioned games fine but now with the 760 i get black screens after bios, after desktop loads, during desktop idle and after minutes into any of the mentioned above games.
I get the message "directx device not found" as well as "the driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered"

I tried these drivers so far and only 331.58 seems to be "sorta" stable for now.

Tried drivers:

326.19beta 327.23whql
326.41beta 331.58whql some crashes but kinda stable for now
326.80beta 331.82whql
331.40beta
331.93beta

This includes the latest drivers that are actually more horrible than any of the older or beta ones.
Anybody else having the same problem?

Use the same drivers the 660ti ran on and then compare? If still does not work then card is faulty and RMA is needed. Instead of replacing it try and see if a refund is possible and go for a 280x over a 770. Cheaper and faster(drivers work too lol).

Have you correctly cleaned the drivers before you installed the new ones?

You can go into gpedit and stop windows auto-installing drivers, then remove all nvidia drivers from the system, use Driver Sweeper to further ensure they are all gone, restart, disable the gpedit alteration then go on and install the newest ones again.

It took me almost 5 tries to get them installed perfectly when I switched to SLI Titans.

I did all the above including the gpedit stuff but that only resulted into not being able to install the driver
trough device manager or just from the desktop for some reason:

For some reason it just wouldent do it after messing with the gpedit stuff but it installed right away when set back to normal.
I use "driver fusion" btw since i believe its the same as driver sweeper.

Anyways, as soon as the driver did install i got the following again:

As before, bioshock infinite adds the message "directx 11 device not found,
and shadow warrior just goes to black screen and recovers a few times untill it finally crashes furtheron.
I also noticed bot the 660 ti and the 760 use the same driver "331.82" but the 760 just doesnt accept it
Since i got 3 years warranty ill wait it out till the next driver update(s) and if it still doesnt work then its going to RMA.
Bring in a glitchy artifacting 560 ti, get a broken 760 in return

You have to make the gpedit alteration then remove everything including driver sweeper, then restart, close all driver prompts, go back into gpedit and change it back to allowing installs again and then install the latest driver.

If that doesn't work, I'm stuffed if I know.

I tried that yesterday actually in exactly the way you described the order of doing things.
I also went to the folder where driver fusion / sweeper backups the current installed drivers and got rid of that to before restarting.
So in the end i did end up restarting the pc without gpedit enabled, thats why i get the yellow thingy's next to the devices in device manager appear.
Even went into regedit and got rid of the most of nvidia keys according to online guides but that still didn't make a difference.

So yeah not much i can do but wait it out and see, and i'm not the only one at this point:

This probably won't help you much, but I'll throw it in here just in case it helps someone else. Hope you won't mind =)

I have a GTX 580 and after the most recent driver update, I got the black screen of death quite often. It happened no matter what I was doing and even when the PC was just sitting there.
I uninstalled the new drivers and then proceeded to install the 310.90 drivers, which has historically been the most stable for me.

My system is now stable again. I don't have the GeForce Experience thing anymore, but I didn't like it anyway (and since I can't use ShadowPlay with a 580, I have no need for it) ^^

I've had this same issue with my dad's desktop, except it runs a 560 Ti in it. Will have to remember this next time I am back there.
