OK, so I got a Gigabyte GTX 480. The only reason I picked this card up is because it cost me next to nothing. I already have a MSI GTX 460 Hawk which I really like, I know they are both last generation and the 480 is, well... something to be desired. Yes it works and puts a beating to my poor lil 460, but the 460 is a nice card, where as the 480 might as well cook my breakfast on. I'm putting a new water cooling setup in my rig within the next couple of weeks and was thinking about going a couple of different ways with this thing.
So here is what I'm thinking about doing:
1: Stick the 480 in and use the 460 for physics card and leave the cooling solutions as they currently are.
2: same as #1 except water cooling the 480
3: Sell the 480 and buy another 460 for a matching set to run in SLI
So what do you guys think. Personally I'm not inclined to get into this 480 for too much more, but the performance is nice. A couple of 460 hawks in SLI would be quite nice as well. So, I leave it up to you. Let's see who can be really persuasive.
