Just wanted to let u all know,i got my GT going now.I had a few problems at first.I messed up my vagp mod, luckily it didn't fry, then i got dc4 where the seal-string goes, tried to clean it off with IPA which made a mess of my conformal coat, stripped it clean, start again.Reapplied the coating, totally filled the cpu socket with dc4 and squished it throught the pin-holes.Installed chip and new fitting kit, then put an extra bead of string around all 3 joints.Fired it up,but i still had contact problems with all the washers on the screws. To be brief,i had to sand about 1mm off the front covers legs, then it fouled a component,so i had to notch out a slot for that to clear.By now i'm getting a bit fed up,so i was well pleased when i next fired it up and it all seemed good, and still does......

except for the fact that i installed the wrong 2.4,and have got to do it all again........sigh

LOL

its funny though..i never had any contact issues myself..yet again 2 boards died on my hands from condensation...

we wanna see some clocks...keep it up

For what its worth (max3 monitoring sux),mbm5 shows -16/18 at 1.7v full load on a 2.4C(the wrong one) with 302fsb, benching screenies soon.I took some pics, but cant get them small enough to upload and still be viewable.Lowest settings on digicam create a 112kb file, tried resizing in p/s7,unviewable at <40kb. Any tips ?:o

sounds fine mate, when you say full load, is this 2 threads? i.e 100% usage (not sure if the 2.4 had HT or not)

Seruiously though, enough folks have put up screen shots to have come across this issue - haven't they? Such as gallery shots of comps etc

those temps were on full load,30 mins of prime + looped 3dm,does anyone know how to run dual-prime ? yep 2.4 does have hyperthreading.

Sounds like pretty good temps then mate! i read somehere to run the small ffts u need to update your version of prime 95.

to compare i get -10c on my vapo ls with a 3.0c @ 1.75v, during prime95 small ftt. (i'll try 1.7v later)

lowtemp.jpg

the new version of prime when running small ftt gets hotter faster than the old version of prime.

don't need to run dual primes, just run it for 1hr it'll get just as hot.

3.0C 30 capper is your cpu?

what clock are you running it at?

what are your fan speed settings in your LS?

its an older 3.0c @ 3.8 - not a 30 capper (its my spare chip so i've been pumping 1.8v just wondering if i get SNDS)

vapo is at default 75% fan speed, but i did have cool early morning ambients:D.

has your vapo been regassed, seems like quite a good temp for a vapo, unless the probe is inacurate
hes got the latest LS mate...not compared with the XE or PE...

shane...youre pushing 1.8V with phase change and expect to see SNDS? :D

push 1.95V through it...then something may happen...

i am pushing 1.77V 24/7 through my 2.8..its an M0 though so they are supposed to withstand higher voltages....
