Hi,
Wondered if anyone would kindly help me identify what is going on in this loop I've taken apart for a new build?
I have 4 rads in total in a cosmos 2.
A Koolance double bay res 1 x cpu and 2 x 7970 GPU blocks (one Koolance and one EK)
Coolant is Mayhems X 1 Clear (there are no dyes at all in the loop and nothing extra added other than the premix coolant)
Here are some pics...

I've never seen algae up close and personal in a loop to know if this is what I've got here. But this is more like a grease residue/gunk.
I know that Koolance use clear Silicone Grease in their blocks to hold gaskets in place as they assemble them. I've experienced this in both the bay res and the GPU blocks. And there is some amount of it in all the areas gaskets are used. In the case if the bay res, that is quite a few.
So I'm telling myself that the grease has moved around the loop and then it's turned green over time. But is it?
Has anyone seen this before?
I have my loop on a 24 hr clean using Mayhems Blitz part 2. And I'm going to take apart the res and "soapy water" clean it.
Someone on another forum is suggesting it's algae and plasticizer.
But I thought that Mayhems X1 Premix was suppose to prevent that?
What do you folks think on here? Is he correct?
