Great news for Waterchill users wanting to upgrade !

Just wanted to get this 'on the record' - I used to Waterchill my Radeon 9800XT with the standard GPU block. Then when I went PCIE I moved to a BFG7800GT OC and there wasn't a lot of information around about whether the block would fit on... Sure enough, when I took the HS&F off, it had tiny holes which weren't in the right place  , although I eventually CNC'd a holding plate which worked fine.

However, for various reasons I upgraded to an EVGA 7900GS this week, and when I took the heatsink off that - CELEBRATION ! They have added additional large holes alongside the standard small NVIDIA ones. :worship:

Pictures to come, although it was night-time so they are a little blurry!

Very good news, they must have had some comlaints about the mounting systems being different and decided to add the secondary mounting holes for backwards compatibility reasons perhaps?

Yes, I expect so - I wasn't exactly pleased when I got the heatsink off my 7800! Especially as I'd tried to determine beforehand whether it would fit, and consistent information just didn't seem to be available, even from Asetek.

Here we go:

Spot the extra holes !
