Graphics Tablet

I recently found out, to great annoyance, that my trusty graphics tablet (made by Trust, no pun intended (seriously)) works on every version on Windows except Windows 7 64-bit, which just so happens to be what my new laptop is running, and what will soon be on my desktop. So, I'm looking for a new one (and the pen broke yesterday when I was changing the battery, so now I really need one quick), and the only recommendation I have so far was another one from Trust, and as my last one lasted for several years, I thought that it was probably a safe move. However, the one I am looking at (and probably the same for all others by them, I'm not sure) doesn't work properly on multiple monitor setups. It tries to map every monitor onto the tablet, that was designed to map to one monitor, so that idea is out of the window.

Can anyone give recommend to me a good one? Wacom are supposed to be brilliant, but their site requires me to pick a product range and go from there, and I have no idea what any of the different ones are. My laptop has a 1366x768 screen, and my desktop has two, the main one is 1920x1080, the other 1440x900. I need something that would work well on both of those setups.

Any recommendations?

bought my dad a wacom bamboo pen and touch a few weeks ago which he seems quite pleased with

thought the small size might be a problem, but it seems to work quite well. he has my old dell 2407, so his resolution is 1920x1200

the pen is pretty good too, and doesn't require any batteries at all

[edit]

the wacom cintiq tablets (with display) look good too, but they're a little pricey

Oh, how I would love a Cintiq. Unfortunately, I don't have a spare grand and a half to put towards my hobby. :( lol

The Wacom Bamboo tablets look quite nice, but they're quite small. Most tablets in my price range are the size of the working area of my old one, at largest.

the Intuous line is great. I have an old Graphite and it's lasted me more than 3 years at least. I would love to get one of the new Intuous models. They even sell a wireless one for around $400 I think.

Unfortunately I'm low on cash (about to start uni) so I can't go for an Intuos atm. :(

Think I'm going to go with the medium bamboo fun for about £150. Wacom seems to be the way to go. Thanks guys.

Your telling me something as simple as a HID tablet won't carry on working in Windows 7 ?

ffs, we'll be rolling that out and have, let's say a number of them freakin tablets, in the buildings.

Better look into this.

Well the X-Fi Extreme Gamer sound card still has issues in Win7 64-bit don't see why it would be surprising that something smaller would have problems. ;)

Cos it's a simplistic device m8. Strip away the plastic and there's nothing to em.

Almost, but not quite really, as odd as a mouse & keyboard not working.

X-Fi card ? pffft they're designed not to work :p

I know. I didn't think once about it not working. It has shortcut button things at the top that you touch with your pen, but apart from that, i don't see how it would have difficulty. My pen broke though, so I guess that's as good an excuse as any to get a new one. Shame I can't get a cheap one though since Trust doesn't work on multiple monitor setups. <_<

lol, X-Fi card.
