Hi, Im looking for a new graphics card for my son, He want to be able to play somthing like Crisis on full graphics so looking for a xmas present, currently have a NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT, Im looking for DX9 as it will be cheaper and I dont have Vista. Any recomendations? as Im not too good with PC's.

The ATi 1950 are a Series of DX 9 GCards that are currently going for a reasonably low price ~£80 for a Crysis capable 512 Pro version.

Hoping to spend as little as possible but I do want it to be able to play Crisis on full graphics.

then you will need something more powerful than a x1950 ... for crysis on full graphs you are really gonna need one of the highest end cards availible today

the 1950 can run Crysis @~ Medium to High and is probably your best bet for your requirements .. but if you can spring for an 8800 then i would suggest doing so

What are the rest of the system specs? The CPU and RAM in particular will have some effect on the performance.

Nothing plays Crysis on full graphics on Vista DX10

However, if you want to play on high in XP DX9 then an 8800GT should do it, depending on screen res

at the moment he can play Crysis on medium graphics, no anti aliasing

What screen Res are we talking about here as less than 1440 and the 1950 may do high 4 u ... but best an 8800

would one like this be better as its got more memory or does that not make a huge difference? He playes it on quite a low screen res i think.
