GPUs turning off on new build

I've had a new Asrock Extreme 7 setup built for about 3 weeks now. I use it for 3D rendering using Blender and Octane render. I've got a problem that I've been pulling my hair out trying to sort out. Hopefully someone would have heard of it before and have an answer. I have 3GPUs in the system. I have 2 monitors. One monitor is plugged into the DVI connector on the mobo and the other is plugged into the DVI on the first GPU. After the system has been running for about an hour (completely random but averages an hour) the monitor which is plugged into the GPU will go into standby and the system freezes. The other monitor will continue to display the desktop but because the system has frozen there is nothing I can do other than hit the reset button. Any got any suggestions as to what might be causing this? I've tried multiple nvidia drivers but they all do the same.

My GPUs are 1 x 460GTX and 2 x 560GTX. they are not SLI or anything like that. I have tried removing the 460 but that makes no difference. I'm out of ideas now so hopefully someone can suggest something.

Cheers

Put the 560s in SLI then the 460 and plug the monitors into the GPUs only, why are you using the mobo's connection?

SLI is no good for what I am doing. Octane doesn't work with GPUs in SLI configuration.

I am using the mobo connection because when Octane is rendering it does so using 100% of the GPU this means that the desktop grinds to a halt. So by plugging the screen into the mobo, which isn't used during rendering, the refresh rate stays stable.

You've got 3 GPUs, running the monitor of the mobo is going to cause a driver conflict surely. Either you use one or the other.
