Jon Peddie Research has done some number crunching and reported great Q3 results as far as the graphics market is concerned. The research also included market share or each of the graphics giants, and although we'd never consider Intel a graphics giant, the research covered both discrete and integrated graphics, where Intel still reigns.

(a slanted view that shows for 1 thing Intel are still outputting with confidence, nVidia have declined and AMD are picking up the slack)

Hardware companies have been putting out relatively encouraging third-quarter results lately, and now, the market analysis firms seem to be following suit. Jon Peddie Research has crunched the numbers on the latest graphics processor shipments, which it says increased a cool 21.2% between the second and third quarters—the highest growth in nine years.

(another version of the stats, where the trends are more visible - still rosie for Intel, but the vision of the other 2 main actors are a little different)

The big gainers were AMD and Intel, experiencing 30.2% and 25.2% growth over Q2, respectively. Nvidia trailed behind, but still chalked up an increase of 3.3%.

(zomg, the picture is looking pretty bad >.< But ...)

GPU shipments in Q3 looking pretty good

.. AMD showed the biggest jump in quarter-to-quarter growth at 30% followed by Intel at 21%.

Intel shipped the most parts at 63 million, over twice as many as its nearest competitor Nvidia.

And to be fair, Guru 3D have trumped the lot with the better, more informative article. Tbh I read it earlier, but I'm sure I read it somewhere else. Bah, nvm.

Looking at the table in it's completeness, u get a better idea of where the spread of the overall ~22% actually went. Moreover, looking at the TechReport brief table, u can see more noticeably that it's not all that rosie for AMD that the first few stories would have us believe. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the AMD stat, over the quarters show, shows a steady decline measuring over years - which should be the real story. The market is increasing by some 20 odd % and yet they're in a steady decline. Indeed, it has to be said that nVidia have gone from almost 30% share to almost 25% in the Q3 - from a trend that was increasing steadily, even so, it's still a 2nd place share, and in comparison with some massive gains shown by other manufacturers, and the releasing of no new products, that's quite remarkable. Via's gain is astonishing on the other hand, but whilst that %age looks big, smaller number gains always look impressive %age wize - still a great achievement imo.

(this is all pre-HD5000 series ofc)

Shows how a version of the same story can be massaged. Can't w8 to see TheInquirer's take on nVidia's obvious market crash of gigantic proportions, never seen b4 on TV, according to their source. - or that place the joker Charlie went off to.
