gotta spend some money in the next hour

also, is ther much poiont goin for the oc saphire card, the normal one is £207 and the oc one is £215

I think he probably meant 'worlds apart on performance' or 'arent worlds apart on price' - guessing it was a typo.

As for the card, I do agree you should have tried for a 7870, considering recent price falls, but I do have a friend using the Sapphire and he's happy enough with it

erm, i dont know if i am reading this right, but just to confirm, i did order the 7870. and in answer to my earlier post, i choose the oc version for £7 extra because i will get it delivered tomorrow instead of tuesday

Ahh, sorry I thought you'd gone for the 7850 Sapphire. Yeh it's a good choice though, considering a couple of weeks ago they were £270, seems silly not to take advantage of such great price falls

this is horible. sitting here waiting for the postie with my new gpu, just sorted me temp wiring out till i get some alchemy 6 pins. working nights, but i want to be up for the delivery... silly question... but... is it normal for wanting the 7870 over the 7850 not just for the performance, but one of the main reasons for wanting it is that it requires 2x pcie power cables, it makes me feel better to know that i have got a powerful system. i know that in this day and age of Eco-mentalists that more power is bad, but how my pc looks makes me choose one item over something slightly better,

Haha, I thought similar when I was trying to decide. I even went up to a 7950 just to get the longer card too haha. Now that's been replaced for a non-reference 670 which takes an 8pin and a 6 pin, so even more :)

ok, got it, installed, a fair mount of sag on it, may need some support. but a decent performance increase

Your old score surprises me a little. I got 3492 total, 3320 on graphics on my old AMD system.
Specs of that were Phenom 965, 8gb 1333mhz RAM and a 5830 - which supposedly performs identically in most tests to the 5770, and the 5770 even beats it in some tests.

That is a huge increase though, bet you're happy with performance
