I might sound stupid but dont judge me. So i watched video on youtube where guy had RAM dimms sitting on both sides of CPU and iv been looking for motherboard like that for ages but couldnt find anything. I want to get motherboard which wouldnt be red or any bright colour prefferebly black or blue if possible. The thing is i want to upgrade my pc and get myself some Corsair Dominator 16GB (1866) or 2400 and get myself new cpu with 1155 socket or 2011 it doesnt matter for me. I tried finding something similair on some UK pc component retailers but couldnt find anything. My case is big enough to fit that size motherboard because right now iv got Corsair 800D

If you want to have memory slots both sides of the CPU, you will probably need to have a motherboard with a 2011 socket.

These are some possible motherboards. . .
- Asrock X79 EXTREME9
- Asus P9X79 PRO
- Gigabyte Ga-x79-up4

As above, only 2011 socket motherboards have ram slots on either side, although if that is your only reason for maybe going 2011 I seriously suggest not to

There is no point in getting the 3820, it is barely better than a 3770k, if you really want to go 2011 and have the money then get a 3930k, oh and stay clear of OCZ ssd's

but what kind of PSU should i get on a wattage, because currently i got 750W Corsair PSU but even for my current build it seems to kind of go on the edge

thats not the only reason, iv been building my rig for past few months now, been working mostly on a case now. Now looking for good components for my pc.

a mobo with ram on either side will use quad channel with 8 dimms(excluding server/xeon based mobos)

so thats a 2011 only, as said above 3820 isnt best choice. you will need a good psu to run the configuration you mentioned.

but most importantly i wouldn't choose a mobo on how many dimms or how they are layed out really.

Currently got:
AMD 4130 CPU
ASRock 990FX Extreme3 Motherboard
Corsair Vegeance 8GB 1600 RAM
x2 Nvidia 660 running at SLI
EVGA Nex 750w PSu
Western Digital Green 2TB HDD

alot of these components will go to my bro's rig because he needs an upgrade, ill only keep 660's. Motherboard ,RAM, CPu and PSU would go to his rig

3770k is actually faster than a 3820, but x79 boards do still cost quite a lot more. Don't go 2011 just because you want RAM slots on both sides of the socket.

Also, why go GTX 660 SLI? Single card solutions are always better than SLI / CrossfireX so I'd just grab a GTX 670. You can always add another 670 down the road and have beastly performance.

Oh, and 750Watt is enough for an Ivy Bridge i7 and two GTX 670s as components are getting more energy efficient

mostly gaming and editing, i also do programming currently since i gotta finish my program by en of the year to get final mark on my uni work

I'm sorry, but a 2011 is only usefull for high level video editing (professional, like Hollywood), high level 3D design, and EXTREME photo rendering (Gigapixel camera photos). Their really is no need to get 2011, because a 3770K is more than enough for everything. And if that EVGA psu is modular, keep it!
