I joined last night but I'm sure it isn't too late for a quick introduction! I stuck an article in the news section over here in the hope that someone may like it enough to hire me as a news writer.
I have a lot of loves: hardware, gadgets and gaming being just a few. Originally from Manchester but now living in Cambridgeshire.
I used to have a couple of laptops which I used for gaming but I decided that, if my laptop ever lost the good fight, I would move to a desktop and something simple, like a Chromebook, for portability. My laptop did die. I tried to find a replacement fan + heatsink as a whole part but that didn't work. I tried to replace the fan myself but the sheer amount of solder left me with a few burns and an almighty mess. Now, I have all my parts for a desktop, except for the GPU. All I need is a GTX 970!
Intel i5 4690
Thermalright AXP-100 Muscle
ASUS H97I-PLUS MITX
Kingston Fury 8GB White RAM
Corsair 250D
Kingston Fury 120GB SSD
Seagate 1TB Barracuda
Corsair RM550
I don't have any decent peripherals yet... A basic Logitech K200, Microsoft mouse and my monitor is an old LG TV but I'm getting there. Everyone starts out with nothing, right? I would love to eventually have a 4 way SLI, custom cooled, X99 based system. But until then, a locked Haswell Refresh will suffice. The white and gold looks good together so I'm happy with it!
Once again, hello!
