Going from a GTX 460

Hey guys, the time has come where I am wanting to upgrade my GPU from a good ole EVGA 460 FTW edition. This card has done me proud but is really starting to show its age unfortunately.

Now I was going to get a 7950 as a replacement as that card looks amazing. However, since deciding on that card I am able to significantly increase my budget. So what should I get? I was thinking a Titan but I don't really know, I'll also be purchasing a Samsung 840 Pro SSD to go with it. As for budget, I recently came into 2 grand so I am happy to look at more expensive options.

Current Specs
ROG Maximus V Gene mobo
i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz w/ NH-D14 cooler
8GB Ram
GTX 460
2x 1tb HDDs

So what GPU would you guys recommend? I'm not looking into upgrading the RAM or CPU, will consider sli or xfire but not necessarily preferable.

Thanks for any help guys :)

Samsung 840 Pro are pretty much the best SSDs out there.

The Titan is a waste of money, a GTX 780 performs almost the same for a lot less money. It's overkill anyway if you're only gaming on 1080p.

Thank you very much guys! :) 780 it is! Because my EVGA 460 did me proud for so long, I'll get this beauty for that extra bit of oomph.

Again thanks for the help guys, appreciate it.

I agree 780 is a much better choice. However I have been pleasantly surprised with my 770. The 840 is amazing I recently installed one in my friends computer. They are so light I almost thought there was nothing inside!

SLI GTX 770's or a single GTX 780 would be my option mate...
Also, wtf - That's some crazy price jump, lol. Lucky git.

I think you'll explode when you notice the performance jump, haha!

definitely go for the 780 instead of the titan.

you will be astounded by the performance jump, i just moved from gtx 460 sli to a hd 7950 and was amazed by the performance jump.
