Today Gigabyte show their new WindForce cooler, which will be bundled with their soon to be released GTX Titan Black.
Wait... did you say bundled? Yes, Gigabyte will not be shipping the Titan Black with their WindForce cooler pre-attached but be selling the reference model with a bundled WindForce cooler for the end user to be installed by the end user.
While this may seem odd, this is quite smart of Gigabyte. Nvidia currently have restrictions on the Titan Black which force manufacturers to only be able to sell Titan Blacks with either reference cooling or a water block.
This could mean that Gigabyte could be the only manufacturer that sells a Titan Black with a non-reference Air cooler, even if it has to be installed by you the end user.
Now what has changed with this cooler, well the shroud has been redesigned, the fans have changed and there seems to be a larger fin stack beneath the center fan.
This card also boasts a 150w cooling improvement over Gigabytes previous WindForce 3X 450W design, so we could be looking at a cooler operating and hopefully quieter cooling solution.
The Gigabyte GTX Titan Black with the bundled WindForce Cooler will be available for around €910.
What do you guys think of Gigabyte's new WindForce cooler? Do you look forward to seeing it on more affordable GPUs in the future? Please post your thoughts and feelings below.
