Gigabyte X370 Aorus Gaming 5 Aorus Review

You spoil us sir !

I like it. It is kinda a cross between the X99 Deluxe and the new shaped Nvidia coolers.

I'm very excited to see more motherboard reviews, but I do hope they are staggered to allow for BIOS and driver maturity from each developer. If all BIOS' and drivers suffered from similar issues then all results will be similar and may not reflect the future of Ryzen.

Hey Guvnor I have enjoyed your informative reviews for years now and I always leave here more informed. Thanks for that. I am for the first time since 2005 taking the plunge into AMD territory. I have chosen this board to insert my 1700x into. I'll be putting this baby together on Tuesday and thanks to this review I feel a lot more confident about it. Looking forward to those F3f bios you mention that you'd post. Thanks again.

I'd like to see more info on the temp sensor that Tom barely mentioned. That is IMPORTANT for us water coolers. If this is the same setup on the GB Z270 Gaming 5, it means us water fowl can set up fan curves based on liquid temps, and that has been either difficult or expensive up until now (eg using an Aquero fan controller, which is bloody expensive). I'm shocked TTL didn't even MENTION this, but I suspect the poor lad has been overworked with all this Ryzen stuff. More info is needed on that front!

Yeah, it's confusing.
I was comparing the specs at the Gigabyte website and they are identical. The only difference seems to be styling (colour and LED shapes) although one is "5" and the other is "7".
The "K7" is €16 more expensive here. Which adds to the confusion.

Excellent review. Thanks for linking the stable BIOS as I am strongly considering buying this board after having a negative experience with the Biostar X370GT7... 1st one was defective, and the RMA replacement arrived DOA from Newegg.

They don't do refunds on opened items, but they've agreed to store credit so i can get a different board this time around due to the hassle. So, it's down to this, the Gaming K7 from Gigabyte, which just offers two additional connections for $20 more, or a board from AsRock.

But the more I look at this board, I can't get around the fact that Gigabyte is just offering SO much bang for the buck with this board!

Is styling the only difference between the GA-AX370-Gaming 5 and GA-AX370-Gaming-K7 ?

The Gaming 7 offers two additional connections, Internal Audio and another... I forget what the second one was. But that's literally the ONLY difference between the two. I was comparing them last night.
