Gigabyte X1900XT

sorry i did mean the X1950

ordered this over the saphire as people reported cooling problems on the saphire.

this baby has a decent heatsink and fan

I have the sapphire editon, sitting right in front of me.

The card doesn't shut off until 120*C. Unless your room is like 95-100*F, I doubt you'll have a problem cooling it. It's a sweet card.

my housemate has an iceq3 x1950pro agp

nice card very close to my iceq3 x1900xt pcie

the cooler was starting to rattle with his rev1

but HIS have fixed that now (my cooler has not gone noisy in 1.5 years)

but like other poster mentioned these are only dx9

but the x1900xt's were noisy if you didnt change the cooler to an artic one (£20 odd) except the iceq3

which was around £20 more than the standard x1900xt's ... saves having to change the cooler

which is easy to do ...... get some artic silver if you do get a standard card and a replacment cooler

edit: let me say first that I misread the subject. Thought we were talking about the X1950XT. I am off topic but who knows, someone might find it useful...not! :)

I have the X1950XT from Sapphire and I am having no problems at all. Good price, temp levels are good at all times. The noise is kept at low levels but I am not the right person to say whether it is silent or not since my case has a lot of fans and a "humm" sound is always there.. The huge white fan system works good and none of the 35 reviews in ebuyer mentioned overheating. As someone said earlier most of it depends on your room's temp and the ventilation of your case really...example with my window open the exhausts blow ice cold air. After closing it and about 1h later the air becomes warm. During winter it is normal that you may notice hot air blowing out the back.

as a card though it is an ace. If you haven't bought the pro I suggest you go for the 256MB XT. It is a 256bit card at the same price and a much higher performance.
