Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3 MB Forced BIOS on Cold Boot

EDIT: And it just stopped all by itself suddenly! LOL what is going on... Anyway not going to complain hehe.

EDIT2: And it just occurred to me this change happened after I re-seated the CPU! Even though there were no bent pins, the CPU must have had bad contact with some of the pins. I guess you learn something new every day :)

So I got this Gigabyte motherboard GA-X79-UD3 with an i7 3820K CPU and 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3-1600 RAM for a steal. Never been used, just sat on a floor somewhere for 3 years with not a single dust particle on it.

Everything in Windows works just fine, no problems whatsoever. However every time the PC does a cold boot (even with ErP disabled), it forces me into the BIOS which is damn annoying since I need this PC to start on a schedule without my interference. I updated to the latest BIOS available, and if I recall it didn't do this weirdness before that. Tried re-flashing and unfortunately the old BIOS is no longer obtainable.

As a last resort it pulled out the CPU and checked for bent pins, but nope everything's peachy! So anyone got an idea how to fix this?

Have you disabled the cpu fan warning? that can send you straight to bios if you are not useing a stock fan like a aio unit or a aftermarket heatsink that spins at low rpm's

I'm using a Noctua NH-U12S. Did use a stock before, which was causing endless reboot loops.

You were getting endless boot loops, the same issue as the OP here?
You both have the same board right?

Almost. Mine's a UD3, his UD4. Not sure where the difference is however. But the issues I've been having seem to be a typical problem with Gigabyte boards (older generations) from what I've gathered by searching on the issues.

EDIT: Tada! And it forced itself into BIOS again... LOL so much for solving problems.

Just disabled it to see if there's a difference. Seems to have a positive impact so far...

Hmm.. I had this same issue with a couple of boards, turned out to be the keyboard believe it or not.

I've got a UD3. It's got crappy power phases but it runs my 8c 16t Xeon no worries.
