Gigabyte announce their Z270X Designare motherboard

This is their premium board (kinda like DELUXE series), and they gave it 6 phases? Content creators don't overclock their CPUs for better performance?

Nice looking board. Don't like the Designaire thing, that would have to go. You don't really need any more than six phases for a 4c 8t chip that uses hardly any power either.

"This new motherboard is aimed at content creators" they tend to use multicore beasts. Unless they aimed it at bloggers.

It's a Z270 board, so max CPU is 4c 8t.

Yes but you'd want to use strongest CPU for video, photo or music editing so you need overclocking. 5GHz i7 is still cost effective way to go for production. If you do content creation that is not that demanding (programming or similar) you won't use Z or X chipset. You would buy H or B, and use i3 without dedicated graphics.

I am just saying it is missed opportunity. We could have had one more DELUXE type of board that has premium features but his way it is everything premium except power delivery. I am still struggling to see what type of customer were they aiming at.

It would have been epic to have H270 board that has premium features and 6 phase power. That is just bang on the spot. But this way it lacks important feature.

I would have considered this board for some next build because it looks striking. But when i saw power it was definite no.

You seem to be lost on the juice in other words? ;)
