i no this might be a wierd/easy/wild question, but u guys no of any tricks or anything, to get me, not really excited or pumped but more enthusiastic and making myself try harder instead of just gaming when i get home?

im in gr11, my marks arnt that high, but i need to get into the habit of trying hard for grade 12, i am a procrastinator (hope tatts how u spell it)

any tips will be awesome ! :)

Well to be honest, you really have to want it, there is no "trick" to be able to do it. That is just my opinion and experience.

Yea you gotta want it man. I used to be horrible in school in 8th grade till i got a citation in the first month of my 9th grade year. I then turned myself and got good grades. The want has to be there, and you need to realize that school is short and appreciate it while it lasts.

Hey man, tbh I think it's semi stupid that you don't want to get good grades. School is what will make you wiser, and will give you a good career in life. A good career causes good job, good money, good house, good wife, and smart kids.

Just do it, school is good for you and knowledge truly is power.

Everything is pretty much true cept, in the US a diploma and grades dont really mean much in the real world. Its all about who you know now a days. *sigh*

That's partially true. Regardless, wouldn't want to tell my kids to stay in school and get good grades when daddy didnt give a damn.

lol

That is invariably true, however it can also be said that through school->college->placements, u can get to know certain peoples.

It`s very hard for me to say the guyz are right, but they are. The only difference between using a pc 24/7 and some1 that plays.. an Xbox 24/7, is that u have the opportunity to learn through u`r pc.

Pc`s are very game orientated these days, it`s extremely rare that u ask some1 what they do with their pc @ gr11/12 that they reply with programming or something - it`s almost always games/msn/web. Although that can make u pc literate to an extent, u`r not learning that much and all 3 of those things make hours pass like minutes.

If u can`t pull the plug on the pc, which I have to be honest - I couldn`t, be sure u`r not just playing games/msn/web on it, u have plenty of time for that.

Stop playing games, have fun, get the syllabuses for your subjects, learn every thing in the syllabus... pass your exams. What I did for GCSE & A Level. (In the case of GCSE I did the learning the night before the exams, with A Levels it was the day before :p).

thats what i gotta do, lol 1 hour a nite i wish

i have a 78 average, 90 in bio, 86 in accounting, 71 in law, and a 58 in marketing.

gotta get 85+, that has been my goal

I hated school. I went because of fear of my life from my mom. She said she would kill me if i didnt go..

When I was younger I didnt understand what here malfunction was.

Now I am older I realize why to older people school is sooooo important. It does several things.

1- by being in school it allows you to interact with other people (some cool and some not but important to learn how to be around them all)

2- Going everyday teaches you the importance of following through. As you get older you HAVE to work. You cant say "I dont feel like working today" you have to work or you dont get paid

3- The more you learn the better your chances are to succeed in life. And usually you make a bunch more $$$$

4- Sitting in front of ur comp allows you to escape reality. (good in the short term, BAD for the long term)

QFT. You will be able to "know people" and get in with certain people by going this route also.

I disagree, that's what university does for you.

How exactly do you get into a good university then? How do you do well at the university? How do you write good essays and do well in math without the proper level of high school education?

I didn't mean it like that, it's the people you meet at uni ;).

I did awful at school, but I'm doing a lot better at uni, don't have to do essays, and someone else is teaching me math :p (Seeing as school didn't teach it to me). My uni's not that highly ranked, like 40 or something, but unless you goto Oxbridge it doesn't really matter, getting a decent degree is the important thing ;). Infact tbh, none of the stuff I did at school has helped in any way at all towards what I'm doing at uni.
