Ok so I've decided to get rid of my Pocket PC and go back to a regular flip phone. Don't get me wrong, i LOVE my PPC but it's a bit bulky and a bit to hard to use as a phone (it's more tailored to internet/email than being used as a phone).

So what I've bought in place of it is the new LG Fusic MP3 phone. A buddy of mine has one and he luvs it, and I've played with it a bit and must say I rather like it myself. Along with the transflash slot it also has a built in FM transmitter so that you can play your MP3's on any FM radio within 10 feet which is kinda nifty cruisin' down the road. It also has all the usual gizmo's like camera, external display, voice dialing, bluetooth, phone as a modem, etc.

What do you think, what would you do? Keep the PPC or get the flip?

Nothing beats a phone designed to be a phone IMO. Go for the LG, it looks sick.

Rgr that, I agree! Thx for the response and opinion mate, muchly appreciated. But you do know that this means you HAVE to get WAP working right? ;) hehe

Adding poll :)

Looks like the LG is ahead, keep up the comments :) I've had LG's in the past and been less than impressed as well, but this one seems very very nice in comparison to the others that I've had.

windows mobile is mainly used for business ppl, i have an audiovox with windows mobile and i never use any of the so called windows apps that come with it.. i use the internet on it, which is alot faster and has a better layout than other phones h/e theres nothing better than being on a compy. basically just get whatever suits you best.

i have to say, i do not like the look of that LG

in this day and age, flip phones do not need antennas, and it looks too flashy and too much like a blue ipod for me

Ur right, phones don't NEED antennas but guess what, I bet that phone gets better reception than phones without antennas, doesn't bother me really tbh.

It also comes with 4 different color face plates from the factory in blue, black, pink, and green I think is the 4th color.

That would be me kind of, I use my PDA all the time. My work/campus is a wireless hotspot :yumyum: I use word, Excel and notes all the time, and then just wirelessly sync it to my work profile...painless :)

My LG C2000 was a complete P.O.S with a capital P. The flip is loose, it dropped calls, the battery life SUCKED. It was terrible. I've had good luck with Nokia's, and my current Sony Z520a is just amazing.

Naw, cingular rapes :).

My dad called them and described the problems I was having, so they shipped me out a brand new Sony Ericsson Z520a and a packaging label so we could ship back the old phone, totally free of charge. The Sony is a way better phone anyway. Bluetooth, etc.

I don`t call many things ghey - coz I think it sounds stoopid, but flip phones are ghey!

Smartphones are kewl and getting better.

I`m using an old SPV C600 atm, up from the older C500 - AND APART FROM THE FACT IT JUST THIS EXACT MINUTE FROZE!!!, it`s a great phone, that is a smartphone - as opposed to a computer that tries to be a phone.

U can also chuck a 512m card in them and they become mucho music players etc (as with alot of ohones these days), play dvds (after conversion) -- no wifi tho, big downfall.

Due to drop my current provider Orange (coz they don`t do text messaging to Verizon for some freakin reason, I`ve give em 4/5 opportunities to solve the issue - but duhhh) and will be taking up another operator that will of course offer a new phone - I`ll be looking for Windows 2003+, wifi especially, seeing as a number of people on other forums use them to jump wifis to voips, and of course the online stuffz that tbh is gimmicky.

Haven`t clicked any that u`ve poll listed, as phones with sliding parts, although not ghey, suck on a grand scale.
