The most obvious upgrade that would require a PSU change is using a more powerful GPU. That might mean a different PCIe cable in some cases, but you could go from a 4070 FE (200W TDP) to a 5080 (360W) or 5090 (575W) with the same 12-pin cable. No need for new cable management until it melts.
 
I don't hate the idea but paying a premium to not redo cables when it doesn't take that long to do is something I personally would rather save money on and get a regular PSU.
