Gainward Warranty

Hi,

Is anybody able to help me get a Gainward Golden Sample 5950 RMA'd. It's about 2 years old, but they come with a 3 year warranty.

I bought the card from my ex employer (BIG IT reseller), but got made redundant by them back in March of this year. I feel a little bit uncomfortable in returning it to them (I bought it as damaged box clearance stock, too).

Gainward don't accept end user warranty claims any more, and they've closed their UK operation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ta,

Damian

I don't believe we have any Gainward reps on the forum unfortunately mate.

That set of purchasing circumstances kind of sucks and puts you in a shit position to try and get an RMA. You might try sending an email to the US customer service people just to see if they might be willing to give you a hand.

It's a shame, it was a pretty good card (didn't cost me a lot either!) I was going to build a second machine with bits that I've got hanging around, but I put the card in the machine, turned on and I get red stripes up the screen.

The real pisser is that my Asus X800 pro has been away with Asus for the past 6 months after that went tits up too! So now I'm back to an old Geforce Quadro 4.

You don't happen to have an email address for gainward do you (I'm being lazy here!)

Thanks,

Damian

Just checked out the link. I noticed that the UK office has changed. They used to be in Windsor, I've tried to call them on a few occasions but the number is dead. Now they're in Newbury.

Hmmmm.... Interesting. Come to think of it, I haven't seen any UK stockists for Gainward for a while, nor have I seen any of their ads in the trade press. I wonder what has happened to them? For a while, they were the golden boys of the graphics card scene. Well built cards that were running faster than the manufacturers' reference models, straight out of the box, and came with their own overclocking software bundled with the card.

Perhaps their advertising campaign of an oriental nurse holding a bottle of piss didn't do too well for them! Choosing a name Golden Sample didn't really give the guys at the ad agency much to work with.

Thx again,

Damian
