G-Sync is now available on some of LG's 2019 OLED TVs

Why?

Samsung supports FreeSync, and now Nvidia supports FreeSync! Why the hell would they support a proprietary standard at this point in the game???

Actually, LG's 2019 OLEDS does support HDMI 2.1/ 4K 120Hz. Only the entry level B series that does not. If you have C series and up, they all have HDMI 2.1, though sadly no GPU has support for it yet.

Can someone confirm this actually has Nvidia's "G-Sync" module or if it's simply using adaptive sync (freesync)?

This really sounds like Nvidia is trying to market adaptive sync as their own proprietary g-sync to keep their branding alive.

If so I would say shame on you Nvidia.

It's adaptive sync that Nvidia has certified is up to their Gsync standards.

Earlier this year they redid their requirements to expand beyond having a proprietary module.

Yes it is nvidia claiming adaptive sync as their own they play dirty all the time.

That I know and understand.

What I am saying is that it seems like Nvidia is trying to call every monitor that has Adaptive sync (freesync) a Gsync monitor to have it align with their branding.

Consider they wanted to go a proprietary route with gsync and that failed when adaptive sync (non proprietary) took off it seems like Nvidia is trying to rebrand adaptive sync as gsync to stay relevant.

They are just saying it's Gsync compatible and meets their standards. Freesync isn't as good as Gsync. It's a fair thing to do for Nvidia.
